Website copywriting: the words that make people call.

Most business websites are written by the owner at eleven at night, and they read like it: everything the business does, in the order it came to mind, with no idea what a customer is looking for. Good copy starts from the customer’s question and answers it.

The words on a service page have two jobs. They have to match what someone typed into Google closely enough to be found, and then they have to answer that person’s actual question fast enough that they stay. Most sites fail the second one, because they describe the business rather than address the reader.

We start by asking what your customers say when they call. Not what the industry calls things — what the person with the problem calls it. Then we write pages that lead with that, explain what you do in plain language, deal with the obvious objections, and end by telling the reader what to do next.

It is written to be read on a phone by someone in a hurry. Short paragraphs, real specifics, no filler.

Nobody searches for “innovative solutions.” They search for “emergency plumber near me.”
TONEFORMALPLAIN READING LEVELSIMPLETECHNICAL SEARCH TERMS

Written in the reader’s words, structured for a phone screen, built around what people actually search

Scope

What’s included in the price.

Everything below is part of the project. Nothing is added to your invoice without a written quote you have approved first.

  • A short interview about how customers describe what they need
  • Search terms researched for each page, worked in naturally rather than stuffed
  • Pages written to a brief you approve first: purpose, reader, action
  • Headlines, subheads and calls to action, not just body text
  • Page titles and meta descriptions for every page written
  • Two revision rounds per page
  • Formatted for the web: short paragraphs, scannable subheads, phone-first
  • Delivered in a document you can paste in, or placed on the site if we built it
  • Claims checked — we will flag anything you cannot back up rather than write it
  • A tone note so future pages sound like the same business

Not included: Blog content or ongoing articles, which are quoted per piece or monthly. Translation. Legal pages, which follow a different process. Print materials, though the tone note will help whoever writes them.

How it works

Step by step.

Interview

Half an hour on what customers ask, what they get wrong, what you wish they knew before calling. This is where the good lines come from.

Research and brief

Search terms per page, competitors’ pages read so we can do better, and a one-line brief for each page you approve before writing.

Draft

First draft of every page, delivered together so the voice is consistent across the site.

Revisions

Two rounds of changes per page. Typically the first round is facts we got wrong, the second is tone.

Delivery

Final copy plus titles and meta descriptions, in a document or on the site.

What we need from you

Four things, and we can start.

The interview
Thirty minutes of your time, or the person who answers the phone
The page list
Which pages need writing, and what each should make the reader do
Facts
Prices, areas, credentials, years trading, anything specific we can use
Existing copy
Whatever is on the site now, even if it is being replaced

Typical timeline: 3–7 business days depending on page count. Your written quote states the actual date for your project.

Questions

Things people ask before booking this.

Will it sound like me?

It will sound like your business at its clearest. The interview is where the voice comes from, and the tone note keeps it consistent. If a draft sounds too polished or too casual, that is exactly what the revision rounds are for.

Do you write with AI?

We use tools for research and to check readability, and every page is written and edited by a person who has spoken to you. The difference shows in the specifics: an AI does not know that your customers always ask about parking.

Can you write product descriptions for my store?

Yes, in batches. Send us the product list and any specifications, and we quote per batch. Consistent format across the catalogue matters more than cleverness.

What if I already have copy and just want it improved?

That is an edit rather than a write, and it is priced lower. Send us what you have and we will tell you honestly whether it needs polishing or replacing.
