What cookies this website uses, why, how long they last, and how to change your choice at any time. Consent on this site is managed by WPConsent, and non-essential cookies are blocked until you allow them.
Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store. They let a site remember something between page loads — that you have already answered the cookie banner, for example — and they let us count visits in aggregate so we can see which pages are useful. Similar technologies such as local storage and pixels work in comparable ways, and everything in this policy applies to them equally.
A cookie set by digitaldotstechnologies.dev is a first-party cookie. One set by another company whose service appears on our site is a third-party cookie.
We use WPConsent, a self-hosted WordPress consent management plugin, to run the cookie banner and preference panel on this website.
Two things follow from that, and both matter:
Essential cookies are exempt from consent because the website cannot function without them. Every other category is off by default until you turn it on.
| Category | Default | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Always active — cannot be switched off | Cookies required for the site to work: maintaining your session, protecting form submissions against abuse, and remembering your cookie choice so the banner does not reappear on every page. |
| Statistics | Not currently used | We do not run analytics at present. If we add an analytics tool in future, its cookies will appear in the table below and stay off until you allow this category. |
| Marketing | Off until you allow it | Advertising and retargeting cookies. We do not currently run any cookies in this category on this website. The category exists so that if we ever add one, it stays blocked until you agree. |
You can accept or reject each optional category independently. Rejecting Statistics or Marketing does not limit any part of this website — every page, form and link works exactly the same way.
| Cookie | Set by | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
wpconsent_preferences | This website (WPConsent) | Essential | Stores which cookie categories you accepted or rejected, so the banner is not shown to you again and your choice is honoured on every page. | 30 days |
PHPSESSID | This website | Essential | Maintains your browsing session on the server. Set only where a session is needed and discarded when you close the browser. | Session |
wordpress_*, wp-settings-* | This website (WordPress) | Essential | Set only for logged-in administrators managing the site. These are never set for ordinary visitors. | Session to 12 months |
The live list in the preference panel is the authoritative one. WPConsent scans this site for cookies, so if we add a service the panel will show it — and it will be blocked until you allow its category.
You can change your mind at any time, and it takes effect immediately.
wpconsent_preferences in your browser resets your choice, and the banner will appear again on your next visit so you can answer it fresh.Withdrawing consent stops the relevant cookies from being set going forward. To ask about any data already held, email support@digitaldotstechnologies.dev.
When you answer the banner we log the record of that consent — the categories you accepted, the date and time, and a technical identifier — in this website’s own database. We keep it as evidence that consent was properly obtained, which privacy regulators expect us to be able to demonstrate. It is retained for 24 months and then deleted, and it is never used for marketing, profiling or any purpose other than proving your consent choice.
This site recognises the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an automatic opt-out of non-essential cookies without you having to interact with the banner. You can still open the preferences panel and allow categories manually if you want to.
Independently of our banner, every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, usually under Settings → Privacy and security. You can block all cookies, block only third-party cookies, or clear what is already stored. Blocking all cookies will break parts of most websites, including this one.
Analytics. This website does not currently load any analytics service, so no analytics cookies are set. If that changes, this policy and the consent banner will be updated first, and nothing will load before you allow the Statistics category.
Stripe. When you pay us, the checkout page is hosted by Stripe on Stripe’s own domain. Stripe sets its own cookies there for fraud prevention and to keep the payment session secure. Those cookies are strictly necessary to process a payment you have chosen to make, are set by Stripe rather than by us, and are governed by Stripe’s privacy policy. Our consent banner does not control them, because they are not set on this website.
We do not run advertising, retargeting, social media or data-broker cookies on this site, and we do not sell or share information collected through cookies.
We are a Canadian business and handle personal information under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), which requires meaningful consent for collection and use. Because we work with clients internationally, we apply a consent standard that also meets the requirements of the GDPR for visitors in the EU and UK, and the CCPA/CPRA for visitors in California — prior opt-in for non-essential cookies, granular control by category, and withdrawal that is as easy as giving consent.
If we add or remove a cookie, or change how consent is collected, we update this page and the effective date at the top. Where a change materially affects what we collect, the banner will ask you to confirm your preferences again rather than carrying over your previous answer. How we handle the personal information cookies may relate to is set out in our privacy policy.
